The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are a team of four teenage turtles having a human form. They stay in New York City and fight sly overlords, criminals, alien invaders and evil forces. The four characters were a brain child of Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird.
The characters first came in the form of comic books before getting accepted in all forms of media – cartoon series on TV, movie series video games, toys, merchandise and accessories. They were especially popular in the late 80s and early 90s.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and their names
Leonardo (Leo) – He is identifiable by his blue mask and two katana. He is the leader, ever focused and confident. He is more cerebral by nature and is a strong backbone to his brothers. His name is derived by the great painter and sculptor, Leonardo Da Vinci.
Michelangelo – He is known to be free spirited and a great team player. He is identifiable by his orange mask and two nunchucks. He is the entertainer of the group and a far cry from his brooding thinker of his elder brother, Leonardo. He speaks with a South Californian accent and loves his pizza. The goofy Michelangelo is named after the famous Italian painter and sculptor.
Donatello – He is a technological wonder – an inventor and engineer rolled into one. He is known by his purple mask and the bo staff. He does not get into conflicts and prepares to stay away and use his energies in inventing things But whenever his brothers need him, he is always there. He is named after the Italian artist and sculptor by the same name.
Ralph (Raphael) – He is the baddass of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, he is recognized by his deep red mask and a pair of sai. He is quite able, strong and is aggressive. He would rather like to show brute power and then talk, when caught in an aggressive situation. He has a New York accent and talks with dead pan humor, tinged with sarcasm. He is named after the Italian Renaissance painter Raphel.
