Savannah Clark Guthrie is an eminent US-based broadcast journalist as well as an attorney. She was born on December 27th, 1971. Since July of 2012, she has been serving as a key co-anchor for Today, the NBC News morning show.
Guthrie started working for NBC News in September 2007 as a legal analytical specialist and correspondent. In this capacity, she provided ongoing coverage of trials taking place all throughout the United States.

Savannath Clark Guthrie was born in Sandringham, Victoria, Australia on December 27, 1971. The name ‘Savannah’ is after her great-grandmother. When she was 2, the family relocated to Tucson, Arizona, in the United States of America. She received her diploma at Amphitheater High School in Tucson
Guthrie attended the University of Arizona, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and graduated with high honors in 1993. She belonged to Pi Beta Phi’s Arizona Alpha chapter.

Her first career in broadcasting was at an ABC affiliate station in Columbia, Missouri (KMIZ), where she worked for two years, before moving back to Tucson and getting a job with an NBC affiliate station (KVOA) in 1995.
After living in Arizona for five years, she moved to Washington, District of Columbia, and got a job at WRC-TV, where she covered big stories, including as the attack on the Pentagon on September 11, 2001, and the anthrax attacks in 2001.
Guthrie made the decision to return to school after spending a number of years working as a journalist for a broadcasting outlet. She attended Georgetown University Law Center to earn her Juris Doctor degree and graduated with highest honours in the class of 2002.

Guthrie conducted an interview with Dr. Conrad Murray, who was convicted guilty of involuntary manslaughter in the Michael Jackson death trial, in the month of November 2011. The interview, which took place before the verdict was announced, generated a lot of headlines and shed light on a lot of previously undisclosed facts about the night Jackson died. She broke the bin Laden story.
While working at TODAY, Guthrie has also performed a number of interviews with famous people, one of which being an exclusive conversation with Meryl Streep, recipient of an Academy Award.
Guthrie is the author of two children’s novels, the first of which is titled Princesses Wear Pants, and the second is titled Princesses Save the World.
After Alex Trebek passed away as host of Jeopardy! in February 2021, it was announced that Guthrie would serve as an interim guest host for the game show. The dates that her episodes broadcast were 14–25 June 2021.

Guthrie tied the knot with Mark Orchard, an English-born BBC News presenter, in the month of December 2005. She had met Orchard while covering the trial of Michael Jackson.

While she was on vacation in the Turks and Caicos Islands at the end of 2009, Guthrie started a relationship with Democratic political and communications consultant Michael Feldman.
