Animal is an upcoming Hindi-language crime drama film directed and written by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. The movie is produced by T-Series, Bhadrakali Pictures, and Cine1 Studios and stars Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Bobby Deol, and Tripti Dimri.
The principal photography of the film started in April 2022 in Manali, and the movie is set to release on 11 August 2023.
T-Series announced the film with an announcement video on January 1, 2021, and revealed the cast, which included Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, and Parineeti Chopra, with Sandeep Reddy Vanga directing. A few days later, Tripti Dimri was reported to join the cast, and in March 2022, it was announced that Chopra had left the project and was replaced by Rashmika Mandanna.
Ranbir Kapoor has described his role in the film as “way out of my comfort zone” with “a lot of grey shades.” Principal photography of the film started a week after Ranbir Kapoor’s wedding in April 2022 in Manali and continued at Pataudi Palace in July 2022. It was reported that Rashmika Mandanna filmed some portions of the movie in Mumbai in August and December 2022. It is also said that the film’s plot revolves around father-son relationship.
The plot details of the movie are currently under wraps, but it is promised to showcase a never-before-seen avatar of Ranbir Kapoor in the crime drama genre. Sandeep Reddy Vanga, who debuted with 2017 Telugu-language hit “Arjun Reddy” and remade the film in Hindi as “Kabir Singh” with Shahid Kapoor, directs the film.
