Deepali Sayyad is a popular Marathi actress who was recently in the news for Kapil Sharma trying to misbehave with her at the International Marathi Film Festival Awards, 2015.
Deepali Sayyad was born to a Hindu family on April 1, 1978. She studied at Nalanda University, where she graduated in Fine Arts. She started acting in TV serials since 2006, some of the well known ones being Bandini, Samantar, Durva and Hindi TV serial ‘Aflatoon’.
Post 2007, Deepali started working in movies. Till 2013, she has acted in more than 30 movies, some of the popular ones being Karyala Gelo Ek (2007), Laadi Godi (2010), Hou Jaane Dey(2009) Mala Ek Chanas Hava (2012), Dholkicya Talawar (2013) and Welcome to Jungle (2014). Her item song ‘Yeh Go Yeh Maina’ made her a household name. The 5 feet 2 inch actress is known to be reserved by nature and likes to hang around with her close company of friends. She also contested for Aam Aadmi Party in 2014 from Ahmednagar constituency.

She married Bobby Khan in 2008; and has a child from him. Post marriage, Deepali Sayyad changed her name to Sofia Jahangir Sayyad. They stay in Lokhandwala, Andheri (Mumbai)
Deepali Sayyad – Kapil Sharma controversy
The famous comedian and host Kapil Sharma reportedly misbehaved with Deepali Sayyad on a cruise at the International Marathi Film Festival Awards, 2015. He was in a druken stupor and got too close fro comfort with Deepali, when he asked her to dance with hm. She declined the offer and moved away. In her statement, she said, “Kapil wanted to dance with me but I moved away. I don’t know Kapil. I prefer to dance with people, whom I know. So, I danced with Gutthi and Palak, whom I get along with.” In fact, Kapil tried to misbehave with other women as well on the cruise, which included Monali Thakur and Tanisha Mukherjee. Kapil later took to Twitter and explained his stand,” I fall, I rise, I make mistakes, I live, I learn, I’ve been hurt but I am alive.i am human, I am not perfect but I am thankful :)” Mika Singh added more fuel to the fire by his reply.
