Here is the last picture of Cecil, the lion before he was gunned down by hunter Walter Palmer. He was the most famous animal of the Hwange National Park in Matabeleland North, Zimbabw.
A dentist by profession, Mr. Palmer, an American recreational game hunter allegedly paid $500000 to a professional hunter Theo Bronkhorst to kill the lion. The animal was first lured out of the sanctuary, before being injured with a crossbow arrow. The lion was then hunted on and 40 hours later, shot with a rifle on July 1, 2015. The incident drew international media attention and outage among animal activists, celebrities and politicians. The social media was filled with a deluge of negative comments against the hunter.
