Family background and modeling stint
Puja was born in New Delhi. Her mother is a doctor while she has a brother who works as an engineer. She won the Femina Miss India Contest in 2007, getting second place and went on to win Femina Miss India Universe in 2007. She represented India in the same year and achieved the ninth position.
Puja Gupta’s Bollywood journey
Between 2007 and 2011, she immersed herself in other projects like working on AIDS awareness project with the likes of Ashley Judd and other Hollywood stars.
In 2011, Puja Gupta debuted in a Bollywood movie called F.A.L.T.U which did above average business. The same year, she was seen in a movie called Chitkrabey-The Shades of Grey. In 2013, she appeared in Goa, Goa, Gone which did good business. Puja also worked alongside Neil Nitin Mukesh in Shortcut Romeo which flopped as it released on the same day as Raanjhanaa which was a big hit.
Puja says that her debut in Bollywood was a stroke of luck. Jackky Bhagnani happened to see her at a dinner party and contacted Remo D’Souza, thinking that that she would fit a part in the film. Remo spoke to photographer Atul Kasbekar who knew Jackie and that is how F.A.L.T.U landed on her lap. She went for an audition and then she was signed for the role. Puja still remembers her first day of the shoot and how she was nervous giving her very first shot before the camera.
Puja Gupta’s hot figure owes it to Bharat Thakur’s Yoga. She says that she was just 18 when she joined the Yoga class in New Delhi. She also credits with Yoga for helping her stay focused in the beauty pageant.
