Maryam Zakaria, age 28, was born in Tehran, on September 27, 1984. She was always geared to be a dancer right from childhood and trained in almost all forms of dance. In Sweden, Maryam worked as a model and dance teacher. Her fascination for Hind film, made her establish a Bollywood dance school called The Indisk Dans Studio. It is also the first dance school in Sweden that taught Indian cinematic style of dancing.
In 2009, Maryam shifted base to Mumbai and began working in advertisements including Set Wet, Coke and Layz. Her dance videos on Youtube are a rage; Tamil movie director Sundar C signed her to do an item number after watching one of them. She did an item number in his film, called Nagaram. Next came her performance in Diyalo Diyala for the movie 100% Love, which also won her rave reviews. She finally got an acting role in the Telugu movie ‘Madatha Kaja’.
Her first item number in a Hindi movie was an item number called ‘Dilli ki Billi’ in a movie called ‘Sadda Adda’. But it was the popular item number ‘ Dil Mera Mufft Ka’ alongside Kareena Kapoor in the movie Agent Vinod (2011) that gave Maryam Zakaria, fame. The Youtube comments had people favoring her over Kareena Kapoor, who they thought was ‘stiff’, for the ‘mujra’ song.
The talented dancer shook her booty alongside two other girls, Shakti Mohan and Mumaith Khan in the popular item number ‘Pritam Pyare’ for Rowdy Rathore. She also had special appearances in movies like D-Day and Bajatey Raho. Maryam Zakaria’s role as a scorching hot teacher in Grand Masti,increased her fan-base phenomenally.
