Shriya Pilgaonkar is a young and popular Indian film actress, director and producer. She has several short films to her credit which earned acknowledgement is many international film festivals.
Shriya Pilgaonkar is the daughter of veteran Indian actors Sachin Pilgaonkar and Supriya Pilgaonkar. She was born in the city of Mumbai on 25th April,1989. From her childhood, Shriya was a bright child. She excelled in studies as well as in sports. She attended the Xavier’s College in Mumbai and earned the bachelor degree in Sociology. Apart from this, she also took training on film appreciation from Film & Television Institute of India, Pune. In addition to this, she has also studied screenplay adaptation in Harvard Summer School.
As a director Shriya has shot several short films which include “Dresswala”, “Pinted Signal” and “Real FM – MTV Telefilm”. She received appreciations for her short films in several international film festivals. She is the proud recipient of “World Nomad’s Travel Film” scholarship and went to Brazil to make movies on travel. She has also co-produced a short documentary movie called “Panchagavya”.
Before she entered the film world, she appeared in many television commercials namely “Rin Supreme”, “Amul Lassi” and “Tata Sky”. Her acting career started in the year 2013 through her father’s film “Ekulti Ek’. It is a critically acclaimed Marathi movie. Shriya too received appreciation for her acting and was bestowed with promising newcomer award. Not only that, she bagged the chance to act in a French movie namely “Un plus Une” which was directed by Oscar winner Claude Lelouche.
