Kareena Kapoor was born 21 September 1980 in Mumbai to actors Randhir Kapoor and Babita. The couple separated when she was a child and only reconciled in 2007. She is the younger sister of actress Karishma Kapoor, the granddaughter of actor-director Raj Kapoor, the niece of actor Rishi Kapoor, and the cousin of actor Ranbir Kapoor. She married actor Saif Ali Khan in 2012 after dating for 5 years.
Kareena went to Jamnabai Narsee school in Mumbai and later attended the Welham Girls boarding school located in Dehradun. She then enrolled for a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce at Mithibai College, Mumbai. She left it after 2 years and enrolled for a course in ‘microcomputers’ over the summer at Harvard University. She came back, became interest in law and enrolled at the Government Law College in Mumbai. She subsequently dropped out after a year to follow her acting interests and pursue a career in acting.
